CONFOAM NEUTRE – CBRNE Decontamination
CONFOAM NEUTRE is a foam concentrate specifically developed for CBRNE incidents. It enables large enclosed spaces to be filled with decontamination foam. When mixed with an active biocidal solution, the foam effectively neutralizes chemical, biological, and radiological contaminants.

CONFOAM NEUTRE for blast overpressure mitigation
In addition to its CBRNE decontamination capabilities, CONFOAM also provides effective blast overpressure mitigation. Manufacturer testing demonstrated that when 1 m³ of CONFOAM was applied around a charge equivalent to 1 kg of TNT, the foam significantly reduced the effects of the blast wave and explosion compared to an unprotected detonation.
During testing, overpressure was measured at a distance of 4.28 metres:
- Without CONFOAM: 111 kPa
- With 1 m³ of CONFOAM: 8 kPa
This represents an approximately 93% reduction in blast overpressure under the tested conditions. For comparison, an overpressure of approximately 34 kPa is commonly considered the threshold at which serious internal organ injuries may occur.
The foam absorbs part of the energy released during an explosion and slows the propagation of the blast wave, helping to reduce the effects on nearby personnel, equipment, and infrastructure.
